What we collect

Only what you type or upload into our forms: your name, phone, email, the property address, details and photos of your project, and for vendors, license and insurance documents. We don't use advertising trackers.

Address lookups

When you enter an address, our server sends it to Lake County's public GIS map service and, if needed, the US Census Bureau's geocoder to find which building department handles it. Those lookups don't include your name or contact information. Results may be cached briefly so repeat lookups are fast. For a fence, gutters or a garage door, we also show the county's aerial photo and parcel lines for the address; the points you tap on that map are kept with your project so the installer can see the layout.

If you stop partway through the project form

Once you check a Lake County address on the project form, we save that address and the project answers you've given (not your name, phone or email) so we can see what kinds of projects people are planning. If you don't finish, our team gets that partial record by email and it's deleted from the website's storage. If you finish, the partial copy is deleted.

Saving your progress

The project form remembers your answers on your own device (in your browser's storage), so you can come back and pick up where you left off. It never stores your name, phone, email or files there, and it clears itself when you send the form. Clearing your browser data removes it too.

How we use it

To answer you, price and plan your project, and keep records of our work. Form submissions are emailed to our team, and a copy without attachments is kept for up to 90 days in case an email fails. When we open a project for you, your project page and the job's records (messages, files you upload, permits, inspections, payments and warranty requests) are kept for as long as we need them for the work, the warranty and the records Florida requires contractors to keep.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your information. We share it only as needed to do the work: for example, with a building department on a permit application, with licensed trade partners on your project, and with the service providers that run this site and our office (Cloudflare for hosting, storage and spam protection; our email provider; our e-signature provider; and our invoicing and online payment provider).

If you ask us to refer you to another company, we send it your name, contact details and what you told us about the job, so it can contact you. That company is independent; its own privacy practices apply to what it collects from you.

If RLW Builders, LLC or its business is ever sold, merged or transferred, your information may go to the buyer or successor so your project and home records continue. This policy would still apply to it unless you're told otherwise and given a choice.

Your choices

Ask us to see, correct or delete what you've sent: projects@rlwbuilders.com. Some records we must keep, such as contracts and permit records, as the law requires.
